Fluorescence at home -
You don't need to go underwater or into the laboratory to find fluorescence! Look at your flowers, explore your kitchen, or just poke around the house and yard to find lots of interesting fluorescence effects.

Fluorescence photography with the lights on!
Fluorescence photography has traditionally been done in the dark to avoid the interference from the ambient light. But with digital cameras and the right settings it is possible to take fluorescence photographs with the lights on. This web page describes the principles and the technique, with a link to an article on the limits of doing this underwater.

Seasickness!
NightSea founder Charlie Mazel has had way too much experience with seasickness, and has written the definitive book to prove it. Heave Ho! My Little Green Book of Seasickness is a compendium of facts, history, humor, and more.

Raft of the Medusa
In mid-afternoon on a sunny July day in 1816 the French frigate Medusa ran aground on the treacherous Arguin Bank, off the west coast of Africa. The events that followed earned the ship a permanent and prominent place in the annals of infamous sea disasters and led to the creation of Gericault's magnificent painting Raft of the Medusa. NightSea founder Charlie Mazel was the Technical Director for the 1980 French marine archaeological expedition that located the remains of the Medusa. He has an illustrated presentation on the story of the events of the shipwreck, the painting, and the expedition to find the Medusa's remains in uncharted waters.
