These beautiful macro insect fluorescence photographs were contributed by NIGHTSEA customer Dan Jones, who is based in Western Australia. Subjects include spiders, caterpillars, grasshoppers, a mantis, and more. The images were made at locations in the area near Cairns in northern Queensland, and in northern New South Wales.
Dan is shooting with an Olympus EM1 Mark II camera with Olympus 60mm macro lens. Illumination is provided by an Olympus FL-900R electronic flash with a NIGHTSEA excitation filter mounted in a custom-printed holder. A barrier filter in front of the lens blocks the reflected excitation light and transmits the fluorescence.
