One of the great values of our Model SFA Stereo Microscope Fluorescence Adapter is that you can use it to add fluorescence to just about any existing stereo microscope. We don’t spend a lot of time wondering whether you have a ‘scope to put it on because most of you already have units in your lab. People occasionally ask us for a microscope recommendation and our answer is that we are agnostic when it comes to brands and you should choose something that fits your resolution – and budget – needs independent of the SFA.
You can buy new stereo microscopes of a variety of brands at a reasonable price from a wide range of distributors, and while exhibiting at a recent conference we became aware of another source – surplus microscopes. A few exhibit tables down were the folks from BioSurplus. BioSurplus purchases equipment from laboratories that have surplus, are looking to update, or are looking to monetize assets, and provides them to customers at a nice combination of quality and value. You can check out their microscopy equipment and the rest of their broad inventory at www.biosurplus.com.
